Product Overview

The hard woody endocarp fragments left after palm nuts are cracked and the kernels removed at the mill. It is a dry, low-ash, low-sulphur lignocellulosic residue with a relatively high calorific value for a biomass fuel, typically around 4,000–4,500 kcal/kg.

Applications & Uses

Solid biomass fuel for industrial boilers and co-firing with coal in power plants (a major export to Japan and South Korea), feedstock for activated carbon, and lightweight aggregate for construction fill and road base.
