Product Overview
A concentrate of natural carotenoids, predominantly alpha- and beta-carotene, recovered from crude (unrefined) palm oil, which carries roughly 500–700 ppm of these pigments. Because carotenoids are almost entirely destroyed by conventional deodorising heat, concentrates are made by non-destructive routes such as transesterification followed by molecular distillation, or preserved by the mild processing used for red palm oil.
Applications & Uses
Natural food colourant, provitamin A fortification of foods and supplements, and carotenoid actives for cosmetics.
