Product Overview

The fibrous residue separated from the pressed fruit pulp (mesocarp) during crude palm oil extraction. It retains several percent of residual oil and is typically burned on-site to raise steam and power for the mill.

Applications & Uses

Combusted with palm kernel shell in mill boilers for combined heat and power (cogeneration), used in fibreboard and composite panels, and a source of recoverable residual (palm-pressed fibre) oil rich in carotenoids and vitamin E.
